SilentDrive™ Belt Drive! The same technology that drives the huge blowers on Top Fuel Dragsters and Funny Cars has been refined by Powerdyne to produce the only belt-driven centrifugal supercharger manufactured today. Utilizing the latest reinforced belts and precision machined drive pulleys, the patented SilentDrive™ system eliminates the annoying rattles, chattering, whine and reliability problems encountered with conventional gear-driven superchargers. No Oil Lines! No Oil Reservoir! With no drive gears to lubricate, SilentDrive™ eliminates the need to route oil from the engine or a separate tank to the supercharger, which vastly simplifies installation. The absence of hot engine oil allows Powerdyne superchargers to run cooler, thus reducing under-hood temperatures while providing a denser air/fuel charge for increased efficiency and maximum horsepower output. Performance This kit provides a 50-60%* gain in power, with a modest increase in gas mileage during normal driving conditions.(*This gain is an estimation from the manufacturer. Gain will also vary at higher elevations.) This Kit Includes Revolutionary Powerdyne centrifugal supercharger headunit with SilentDrive™ Belt Drive. OEM style 356 aluminum mounting brackets, performance tested for maximum durabitity. Flow-tested cast aluminum and/or urethane inlet ducts and discharge tubing. Heavy duty mounting hardware, including stainless steel clamps, and nylon tie wraps. High temperature silicone hose couplings and highest quality flex hose. OEM style belt tensioner and high quality drive belt. Supercharger drive pulley. Step-by-step, fully illustrated installation manual. Recalibrated fuel management system for accurate air/fuel ratio. CBP Suggest: Requires 255 lb/hr fuel pump (sold separately) Requires by-pass valve (sold separately) Optional Boost Retard (Powerdyne's Computer Chip is Not Recommended. See Installation Notes Below) Installation Installation Time: 3-4 Hours Level of Difficulty: To ensure an easy installation, all Powerdyne systems contain extremely thorough installation instructions with plenty of photos, illustrations, and diagrams, requiring only basic mechanical ability and the use of simple hand tools. Installation Notes: Due to inconsistencies in the timing retard feature, we do not recommend the use of the computer chip that Powerdyne sells for their 9psi kits. Though a boost-retard unit is not mandatory if timing is set conservatively, it will allow you to run more initial timing (giving you more acceleration) and give you more tuneability for altitude changes. Just like with most supercharger installs, it's a good idea to run a tight gap on your spark plugs (to eliminate the spark from being blown out by the supercharger) and install spark plugs that are 1-2 heat ranges colder than stock (to eliminate chance of detonation).
