For owners of 2003-2004 Cobra vehicles, this kit is designed to replace everything in front of the factory mass airflow system. It comes complete with MAF adapter, adapter hardware, conical air filter assembly and custom heat shield made specifically for the supercharged '03-'04 Cobra. Performance is maximized by keeping the filter directly in front of the air meter housing, protecting the filter with the custom shield and drawing the colder air in from the fenderwell. This setup is a complete filter solution, and is superior to remotely locating the air filter away from the mass airflow unit, as placing a bend in front of the mass airflow unit can effect the sensors reading. On these vehicles, a realistic gain of about 17 rear wheel horsepower is typical. Beware of claims of 20+ HP from a filter-only upgrade, as gains that high can not be accomplished without manipulation of the air/fuel ratio.
